According to internet reports, a hacker going by the alias SKFU has managed to run a Blu-ray disc backup on the PS3. Details are sketchy and the actual hack has yet to be released, but at minimum you?ll need a 60GB hard drive and original disc in order to pull this off, along with a ?special? dump of the game you want to run from HDD.

It goes without saying that the folks who work at Criterion Collection are film buffs. And anyone who has watched one of the company's lovingly remastered DVDs can attest to the fact the company really cares about making films look as good as they can. The original owner of the PS3's PSN ID was still stored on the system, and it was set to auto-login when the system turned on. By tracking Waller's IP address, they were able to find him.

Other than the obvious star Metal Gear Solid 4, the PlayStation 3 actually has some excellent, exclusive (and non-exclusive) games in their repertoire. Starting today, many of these titles are being rebranded as "Greatest Hits" and will feature a new, lower $30 price tag. Resistance, Warhawk, Assassin's Creed and CoD3 just to name a few.

David Hayter isn't just some voice guy. He's a voice guy who's also a Hollywood screenwriter and has penned some big movies like X-Men. While Hayter did offer praise for Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima he also pointed out creative run-ins he's had with the game designer.

Lots of data on movie sales. It is somewhat obvious that the PS3 rescued the Blu-ray format from failure and if it wasn't for the PS3, movie sales could not protect themselves from HD DVD (if it was still alive) either. Funny to see that Microsoft sold only 316,000 Xbox 360 HD DVD add-ons.

The release of PlayStation 3 firmware 2.40 seems to have caused a wide number of issues for those who updated to the new release, as reported earlier. It now appears that Sony has since pulled the new update, reverting back to firmware 2.36 as the most recent updated. This may be a temporary move to prevent further reliability issues.
